The GY-HM250 does it all. This full-featured professional camcorder delivers stunning 4K Ultra HD video, the ability to stream to Facebook Live and YouTube, and the ability to add custom, integrated graphics to your recordings or live streams without an external CG or production switcher. It features a 12x optical zoom lens with tele-macro focus mode, a 4K CMOS sensor that records directly to SDHC/SDXC memory cards, and adds Zero Config for one-click configuration when joining the same LAN as other cameras.

Advanced IP network communication and live HD streaming

The camcorder features JVC's latest IP communications engine, giving you remote control and monitoring of vital camera and lens functions from a tablet, smartphone, or computer anywhere in the world. Live streaming is possible in HD or SD resolutions, depending on available bandwidth. Connect your camera to an optional Wi-Fi or 4G/LTE modem and share your programme with an audience anywhere in the world via content delivery networks such as YouTube, Facebook Live, and other cloud services.

4K Ultra HD Recording at 150Mbps and Live Output

Working with 4K has never been easier! Insert an SDHC or SDXC (UHS-I Speed class3) memory card and record hours of 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) material. Recordings are made using the Quicktime (.MOV) file format and are compatible with many popular editing systems. Connect a 4K Ultra HD monitor with a single HDMI cable, and view the camera's live 4K signal. You can also play back recorded files directly from the camera. The camera also downconverts UHD signals to standard HD for output through the built-in HDMI connector.

12x optical zoom and seamless 24x dynamic zoom

The ultra high quality imagery begins with a precision 12x F1.2–3.5 optical zoom lens (35mm equivalent: 29.6–355mm). When shooting in HD mode, Dynamic Zoom combines optical zoom and pixel mapping from a 4K image sensor to create seamless and lossless 24x zoom. This allows the camera to have a long zoom range while retaining its compact form factor.

Full HD 4:2:2 recording at 50Mbps

The ability to record H.264 4:2:2 24-60p at 50Mbps makes this an ideal camera for broadcasting and production houses alike. The colour accuracy of 4:2:2 enables the camera to deliver exceptional colour resolution even when images are in sharp contrast to the background. This is particularly useful when strong colours are in contrast to bright backgrounds, or in green screen usage.

Detachable handle unit with professional XLR audio

The detachable heavy-duty handle makes the camcorder easy to carry and also makes it simple to shoot from low angles, thanks to its built-in REC button with lock function, and zoom lever. XLR audio inputs are provided for the attachment of a professional microphone or for LINE input, complete with Phantom power supply capability.

Integrated 12x Ultra HD Lens, 1/2.3-inch CMOS Sensor

Dual SDHC/SDXC Card Slots

Dual SDHC/SDXC card slots make this camera truly versatile camcorder, offering such benefits as simultaneous recording and relay recording. In relay recording mode, you can shoot continuously and seamlessly over multiple cards. When one card is full, the camcorder switches seamlessly and automatically to the other card. And because cards are hot swappable, there is in effect no limit to the continuous shooting time in any mode, even with lower capacity cards.

Upgrade your GY-HM200 to GY-HM250 for RTMPS support and broadcast graphic overlays

For customers who have the older GY-HM200 model, it will be possible to upgrade this to the GY-HM250 via JVC’s service department. Facebook recently changed their live streaming protocol to RTMPS – this upgrade delivers live streaming to Facebook directly from the camcorder. As well as solving the Facebook pairing problem, the upgrade will support real RTMPS data input plus broadcast overlay graphics and will be available in mid-March for a flat fee of €300.

4:2:2 Full HD recording at 50Mbps

The camera records 4:2:2 HD signals up to 60p at 50Mbps making it an ideal camera for general HD production work. 50Mbps files are stored in the Quicktime (.MOV) format for easy editing. Conventional AVCHD (4:2:0) recording is also possible, providing wide editing compatibility in an array of standard HD and SD formats.

120fps high-speed recording for slow motion playback

The camcorder allows high-speed recording at up to 120fps (59.94Hz) / 100fps (50Hz) for smooth slow motion playback. This can be used to create artistic effects or to review action replays when examining sporting skills. The feature is only available at 1920x1080 resolution only, and offers up to 1/5 slow at 24p mode.

Graphic & Titling Solutions for a Single Camera Operator

Designed for enhanced single-camera production, the GY-HM250U offers lower-third and full-screen titling solutions for recorded or streamed HD video output without an external CG or production switcher. Lower-third graphic overlays are generated and controlled using a browser-equipped device such as a tablet or smartphone. JVC's software utility lets customers upload logos or icons to be displayed in the lower-third of the recorded video. The camera also comes with several pre-installed color schemes and the ability to add your own text bar designs also exists. The new GY-HM250 is perfect for streaming broadcast news, weddings, school, family and church events, or literally any occasion you want to share live!

HD-SDI (3G) and HDMI output

The camcorder comes with a wide variety of connectors to meet the needs of professional applications, including HD-SDI (3G) and HDMI. Secured digital connection is assured between external devices such as a recorder or switcher. Simultaneous output from both SDI and HDMI is also possible.

SDP Generator V0700 is an application to generate a data file (SDP file) for import images to a JVC camera that supports overlaying of images.
